An incredible week! Choosing Walkabout Scotland was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The walks were amazing, they were fun and challenging. Each day was different so there was no risk of ever being bored. The scenery was incredible beyond words.

Andy was the perfect guide. He knew loads about the flora and fauna, the history, and the geology of the island plus he was simply a fun guy to take a hike with. You could tell that he loved what he was doing and his passion was infectious. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone had a great time and saw what they wanted to see. The fact that we had Andy for a guide made the trip substantially more enjoyable and informative for everyone in the group (and the trip itself was already pretty great, so that’s saying a lot.)

We were extremely lucky to have such a great group of people sign up for the same trip and wonderful weather. I can’t give Walkabout credit for that, but really cool people seem to book with Walkabout.

So the hiking was all great. When we were done roughing it, we got to go back to really nice accommodations. The Sconser Lodge might have been the nicest place I’ve ever stayed in my life. It was right on the water and had a beautiful view. The staff was so friendly and the food was incredible. Plus it had a great bar. It was the perfect way to end the day. We spent half the week at the Sconser and then we went to Portree and stayed at the Pink Guest House. Portree was so cute and the Pink Guest House was very nice. We had dinners at a local bar and ended up meeting great people from all over the world who visit the area. Just another really great experience at a really fun place.

This was a great way to see the Isle of Skye without feeling too touristy. The perfect blend of luxury and roughing it. I’ve wanted to take a trip like this for my entire life and I’ve been saving for a while to make this happen. Every penny was very well spent and I was never disappointed. I cannot recommend Walkabout Scotland highly enough. If I didn’t have the rest of the world to see, I’d book another trip in a minute. Seriously, go book a trip. Right now. You won’t be disappointed.

This was my experience as well. The only thing I would suggest to make an improve matters is to give your guides a "hands-free" microphone so that they can make comments as they drive. Andy is a great guide encouraging the slower members of the tour (such as myself). I didn't want the holiday to end.

I can't say it better than Beckie. What an amazing week! Andy picked us all up in Edinburgh on a Sunday and we were all great friends by the next day. We enjoyed breakfast together every day, then went out for the day with Andy. Andy was great at filling our days with beautiful scenery, lessons on Scottish history, horticulture and geology. But the jokes; Andy had some good ones.

We ended our days with time to relax a bit, then clean up for dinner. Our room was incredible and the meals were amazing. I really enjoyed spending the evenings with the other people in our group. We had the best time getting to know each other.

I highly recommend Walk About Scotland. Great guide, great hikes, great accommodations and great food! Sign up right away.
